Principles of Drama Therapy

An experiential introduction to drama therapy. Over three weekends together, we'll move through the history of the field, the theoretical frameworks that shape it, and the interventions and processes that show up in the therapeutic play space. Along the way, we'll look at how drama therapy is best used across many client populations and settings.

For NADTA alternative training students, this course satisfies the Principles of Drama Therapy core requirement.

Drama Therapy & Eating Disorders

An experiential course on the clinical use of drama therapy in eating disorder treatment. Over three weekends together, we'll look at how eating disorders show up in the therapy room and how drama therapy interventions can be used as part of treatment. Participants will also learn about the field of eating disorders, body liberation, and some of the challenges clinicians are facing in modern eating disorder treatment. The course will include clinical discussion, experiential practice, case material, and time to think through different creative arts therapy interventions.
